The tenth fight night of Germany’s Tough Boxing League - bareknuckle and hybrid fighting - took place in Nuremberg’s Meistersingerhalle. The ring stood on the stage beneath the organ, in a hall built for an orchestra, not for a broadcast.
What makes it hard. A concert hall has no camera positions and no cable routes, and the mixing position ends up in a room somewhere out the back. Add bareknuckle, where a knockout takes a second and there’s no second take. And all of it across the border: anything not loaded at home stays at home.
What we build for it. Cameras around the ring, including an operator with a handheld camera right at the ropes, a vision mixer in a case with a multiview and a separate recording of every camera, and instant replay that shows the best moments in slow motion straight away. The picture carries graphics with the names and the round timer.
How it went. The complete fight night, live and as pay-per-view. The same picture went to the screens in the hall at the same time, so even people in the back rows saw details they would otherwise have had no chance of catching.
